Ten Years Since the First PaySpot Transaction
On June 15, 2016, the first transaction was processed through the PaySpot system. It was one of the first tangible outcomes of the Serbian Payment Services Act, which had entered into force a year earlier and enabled certain payment services and payment transactions to be carried out outside the traditional banking sector.
At that time, the Serbian payments market was at the beginning of a significant transformation. The new regulatory framework opened the door to the development of payment institutions, innovative business models, and new digital financial services.
Recognizing the opportunities created by these changes, PaySpot was among the pioneers in the market, developing a system that would grow over the next decade into one of the largest payment service networks in the country.
From that first transaction to today, millions of payments have been successfully processed through the PaySpot system. The company has established partnerships with hundreds of businesses and developed a broad portfolio of payment and digital services for both consumers and corporate clients.
Ten years later, technology, market conditions, and customer expectations have evolved significantly. What has remained unchanged is PaySpot’s commitment to developing reliable, accessible, and user-friendly payment solutions, while continuously investing in innovation, security, and service quality.
This ten-year milestone marks an important chapter in the company's development and serves as a reminder of a decade during which the Serbian payments industry underwent one of the most significant transformations in its history.
